การศึกษาค้นคว้าด้วยตนเองครั้งนี้จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างปัจจัยความสามารถในการทำกำไรกับราคาหลักทรัพย์ของธนาคารพาณิชย์ที่จดทะเบียนในตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย โดยใช้ข้อมูลแบบทุติยภูมิ งบการเงิน (งบแสดงฐานะการเงิน และงบกำไรขาดทุนเบ็ดเสร็จ) และราคาปิดของหลักทรัพย์รายไตรมาส ตั้งแต่ไตรมาสที่ 1 ปี พ.ศ.2551 ถึงไตรมาสที่ 4 ปี พ.ศ.2555 ระยะเวลา 5 ปี จำนวน 20 ไตรมาส แบ่งกลุ่มธนาคารพาณิชย์ออกเป็น 3 กลุ่ม ตามขนาดของสินทรัพย์ ทดสอบสมมติฐานด้วยเครื่องมือทางสถิติที่ระดับความเชื่อมั่นที่ 95% หรือระดับนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ 0.05
