การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการเปลี่ยนแปลงการใช้ประโยชน์ที่ดินในพื้นที่ต้นน้ำลำธารของลุ่มน้ำวัง เพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบในด้านต่าง ๆ การเปลี่ยนแปลงพื้นที่ป่าไม้ การเสื่อมโทรมของดินในพื้นที่ต้นน้ำลำธารของลุ่มน้ำวัง และเพื่อศึกษาข้อมูลของลุ่มน้ำวังสำหรับการวางแผนการบริหารการจัดการทรัพยากรในพื้นที่ลุ่มน้ำและสิ่งแวดล้อม
