ต้นกำเนิดมหาวิทยาลัย
มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏนครราชสีมา สืบเนื่องมาจากโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูมูลกสิกรรมซึ่งมณฑลนครราชสีมาตั้งขึ้น เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2466 มีขุนศุุภลักษณ์ศึกษากร (นายเจียม ศุภลักษณ์) เป็นครูใหญ่คนแรก
ในราชสมัยพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 6 มีการประกาศใช้ พระราชบัญญัติการประถมศึกษา มีสาระสำคัญคือ ให้เด็กทุกคนที่มีอายุ 7 ปีบริบูรณ์ ต้องเรียนหนังสืออยู่ในโรงเรียนจนอายุ 14 ปี จึงมีนโยบายให้ทุกมณฑลจัดตั้งโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูขึ้น มณฑลนครราชสีมาจึงได้สร้างโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูที่ด้านตะวันตกของวัดโพธิ์ ตำบลโพธิ์กลาง อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมาในเดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2465 ซึ่งมีเนื้อที่ประมาณ 50 ไร่ ซึ่งเป็นที่ดินของขุนศุภลักษณ์ศึกษากร โดยทางราชการให้ค่าตอบแทน เป็นเงิน 300 บาท จึงเป็นที่ตั้งของโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูมณฑลนครราชสีมา

สมัยเป็นโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครู (ระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2466 - พ.ศ. 2501)

โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูกสิกรรม

โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูมูลกสิกรรม ประจำมณฑลนครราชสีมา
เริ่มดำเนินการสอนในปี พ.ศ. 2466 เนื่องจากโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูกสิกรรม ได้เปิดสอนหลักสูตรประโยคครูมูล จึงเปลี่ยนชื่อจากโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูมูลกสิกรรม เป็นโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูมูลกสิกรรม ประจำมณฑลนครราชสีมา นักศึกษาที่จบหลักสูตรนี้จะได้รับวุฒิการศึกษา 2 วุฒิ คือ ผู้ที่มีความรู้ไม่ถึงมัธยมปีที่ 3 เมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษาตามหลักสูตรจะได้วุฒิ ป.มณฑล ส่วนผู้ที่มีความรู้ตั้งแต่ มัธยมปีที่ 3 ขึ้นไป เมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษาตามหลักสูตรจะได้วุฒิประโยคครูมูล

โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูประกาศนัยบัตรจังหวัด
เริ่มดำเนินการสอนในปี พ.ศ.2476 โรงเรียนได้เปิดสอนหลักสูตรประกาศนียบัตรจังหวัด โดยรับผู้ที่มีความรู้ตั้งแต่ชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ขึ้นไป เข้าเรียน ใช้เวลา 2 ปี ต่อมาโรงเรียนยกเลิกหลักสูตรประโยคครูมูลเหลือเพียงหลักสูตร ประกาศนียบัตรจังหวัดนี้เพียงหลักสูตรเดียว ดังนั้นในปี พ.ศ. 2478 จึงเปลี่ยนชื่อโรงเรียนเป็น โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูประกาศนียบัตรจังหวัด เมื่อสำเร็จการศึกษาตามหลักสูตรจะได้วุฒิประโยคครูประกาศนียบัตรจังหวัด (ว.)

ในปีพ.ศ. 2481 โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูประถมกสิกรรม ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่อำเภอโนนวัด (อำเภอโนนสูง ในปัจจุบัน) ได้ย้ายไปเปิดสอนที่บ้านแม่โจ้ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูประกาศนียบัตรจังหวัดจึงได้ย้ายไปใช้อาคารสถานที่ของ โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูประถมกสิกรรม ในวันที่ 3 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ.2481 เพราะมีอาคารสถานที่พร้อมมากกว่าที่เดิม เรียกชื่อโรงเรียนว่า "โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูประกาศนียบัตรจังหวัดนครราชสีมา อำเภอโนนวัด" เรียกย่อว่าโรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูโนนวัด ต่อมาอำเภอโนนวัดได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็นอำเภอโนนสูง ในปี พ.ศ. 2482 จึงได้เปลี่ยนชื่อโรงเรียนเป็น โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูโนนสูง
ในระหว่าง พ.ศ. 2481 - 2482 ได้เปิดหลักสูตรครูมัธยปีที่ 1 พิเศษ และ มัธยมปีที่ 2 พิเศษ โดยหลักสูตรนี้จะรับนักเรียนที่จบประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 มาเรียน ถ้าเรียน 1 ปี ได้ มัธยมปีที่ 1 พิเศษ ถ้าเรียน 2 ปี ได้ มัธยมปีที่ 2 พิเศษ ซึ่งจะได้รับเงินเดือนแตกต่างกัน ต่อมาหลักสูตรนี้ถูกปรับใหม่เป็นประกาศนียบัตรครูประชาบาล จะรับผู้ที่เรียนจบประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 มาเรียน 3 ปี สำเร็จการศึกษา ได้วุฒิประกาศนียบัตรครูประชาบาล (ป.บ.)
วันที่ 11 กันยายน 2482 ขุนสุบงกชศึกษากร ย้ายไปเป็นครูใหญ่โรงเรียนเกษตรกรรมจังหวัดเลย นายช่วง จันทรมะโน มาเป็นครูใหญ่แทน เป็นผู้บริหารท่านที่ 3 ของโรงเรียน

โรงเรียนฝึกหัดครูมูลโนนสูง
