นอกจากนี้ คณะรัฐมนตรีได้มีมติกำหนดให้วันที่ ๒ กุมภาพันธ์ของทุกปีเป็น"วันนักประดิษฐ์" เพื่อเป็นการเทิดพระเกียรติ ซึ่งสืบเนื่องจากการทูลเกล้าฯ ถวายสิทธิบัตรในพระปรมาภิไธย เมื่อวันที่ ๒ กุมภาพันธ์ ๒๕๓๖
