7. ครูให้นักเรียนเล่นเกมจับคู่อลเวง โดยให้ทุกคนยืนขึ้นเตรียมพร้อมจับคู่ตามคำสั่ง เพื่อฝึกบทสนทนาถาม-ตอบ ครูอาจพูดประโยคเป็นภาษาอังกฤษหรือภาษาไทยก็ได้
ครูออกคำสั่งทีละครั้ง แล้วเปิดโอกาสให้นักเรียนเลือกจับคู่กับเพื่อนร่วมชั้น เพื่อฝึกบทสนทนา ถาม-ตอบสลับกัน
จากนั้นนักเรียนเลือกคู่สนทนาใหม่อีก 3-4 คู่ ตามคำสั่งของครูจนคล่อง ครูสุ่มตัวอย่างนักเรียน 3 คู่ ให้พูดบทสนทนาดังกล่าวหน้าชั้นเรียน
8. ครูอธิบายการใช้ was/were ให้นักเรียนฟังว่า Verb to be แปลว่า “เป็น, อยู่, คือ” ถ้าใช้กับเหตุการณ์ปัจจุบัน จะใช้เป็น “is, am, are” แต่ถ้าใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในอดีต เราใช้ was หรือ were ตามตารางเปรียบเทียบ แล้วครูเขียนตารางบนกระดาน ให้นักเรียนลอกลงในสมุด
ครูเขียนตัวอย่างประโยคบนกระดาน เพื่อให้นักเรียนช่วยกันวิเคราะห์

ครูกำหนดเวลาให้ 10 นาที เมื่อนักเรียนทำงานเสร็จแล้ว ครูสุ่มเรียกนักเรียน 10 คน ให้ยืนขึ้นอ่านแบบฝึกหัด คนละ 1 ข้อ แล้วออกมาเขียนคำตอบบนกระดาน ครูและนักเรียนที่เหลือต่างตรวจคำตอบบนกระดานและแก้ไขให้ถูกต้อง
9. ครูอธิบายว่า Question words คือ คำที่วางไว้หน้าประโยคคำถาม เพื่อถามหาสิ่งต่อไปนี้ ครูเขียนตารางและตัวอย่างบนกระดาน นักเรียนอ่านออกเสียงตามครู และลอกลงในสมุด ครูให้นักเรียนฝึกพูดบทสนทนาถาม-ตอบกับเพื่อนใกล้ตัว (pair work) ด้วยประโยคคำถามที่ขึ้นต้นด้วย Question words คำถามอะไรก็ได้ คนละ 3 คำถาม โดยคำนึงถึงสิ่งที่อยู่ใกล้ตัวเป็นหลัก ครูเดินรอบๆ ห้อง เพื่อสังเกตพฤติกรรมการเรียนรู้ของแต่ละคนและจดบันทึก ครูให้อาสาสมัคร 3 คู่ ออกมาพูดบทสนทนาหน้าชั้นเรียนทีละคู่ เพื่อนๆ ปรบมือให้กำลังใจ
