ภาควิชาเรานั้นอยู่ที่ตึก Widsawawattana (Engineering Building)

TME ย่อมาจาก Tool And Materials Engineering สามารถแยกได้เป็นสองสาขาคือวิศวกรรมเครื่องมือและวิศวกรรมวัสดุ เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ภาควิชาเราได้เปิดสาขาใหม่คือวิศวกรรมการผลิตชิ้นส่วนยานยนต์

ภาควิชาวิศวกรรมเครื่องมือและวัสดุเป็นภาควิชาที่เปิดใหม่ สังกัดคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี จัดตั้งเป็นภาควิชาเมื่อวันที่ 30 มิถุนายน 2540 ภาควิชารับผิดชอบการจัดการเรียนการสอน การวิจัยและพัฒนา และการบริการวิชาการแก่สังคมทางด้านเทคโนโลยีการขึ้นรูปโลหะ พอลิเมอร์ เซรามิกส์และแก้ว และวัสดุผสม เทคโนโลยีการผลิตชิ้นงาน โดยใช้กรรมวิธีการปาดผิว การตัด การอบชุบ การชุบเคลือบผิว และการใช้วัสดุวิศวกรรมเพื่อเพิ่มคุณภาพแก่ผลิตภัณฑ์และลดต้นทุนการผลิต ภาควิชาได้เริ่มเปิดสอนหลักสูตรระดับปริญญาตรีสาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมเครื่องมือ และวัสดุ ในปีการศึกษา 2536 ปัจจุบันภาควิชาได้เปิดสอนหลักสูตรระดับปริญญาตรี 2 หลักสูตร ได้แก่หลักสูตรสาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมเครื่องมือ และสาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมวัสดุ หลักสูตรปริญญาโท 3 หลักสูตร ได้แก่ สาขาวิชาเทคโนโลยีการขึ้นรูปโลหะ สาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมความเที่ยงตรง และสาขาวิชาวิศวกรรมกระบวนการขึ้นรูปพอลิเมอร์ และหลักสูตรปริญญาเอก 1 หลักสูตร ได้แก่ สาขาวิชาเทคโนโลยีการขึ้นรูปโลหะ
