วัตถุประสงค์ของงานวิจัยนี้เพื่อศึกษ

วัตถุประสงค์ของงานวิจัยนี้เพื่อศึกษาวิธีการใช้ไฟฟ้าให้มีความเหมาะสม คุ้มค่าและประหยัด. วิธีการศึกษาเริ่มจากการสังเกตและบันทึกพฤติกรรมการใช้ไฟฟ้าส่องสว่างในห้องน้ำและบริเวณทางเดินภายในอาคารคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์คอมพิวเตอร์ในเวลาเรียนปกติ แล้วนำข้อมูลที่ได้ไปออกแบบอุปกรณ์ควบคุมให้เหมาะสมกับลักษณะการใช้งาน จากผลการศึกษาพบว่าไฟฟ้าส่องสว่างห้องน้ำถูกเปิดทิ้งไว้ประมาณ 18 ชั่วโมงต่อ 1 วันหรือประมาณร้อยละ 80 ของผู้ใช้ห้องน้ำเปิดไฟแล้วไม่ปิด และบริเวณทางเดินจะเปิดไฟส่องสว่างตั้งแต่เวลา 19.00 น.จนถึงเวลา 8.00 น.ซึ่งเป็นเวลาที่่เจ้าหน้าที่มาทำงาน รวมเวลาประมาณ 13 ชั่วโมงต่อ 1 วัน จากข้อมูลดังกล่าวจะเห็นว่ามีความไม่คุ้มค่า สิ้นเปลืองเกิดขึ้นมาก ดังนั้นผมจึงเห็นว่าควรแก้ปัญหาโดยนำสวิตซ์ควบคุมการเปิดปิดไฟฟ้าอัตโนมัติติดตั้งแทนสวิตซ์แบบทั่วไปตามอุปกรณ์ส่องสว่างในพื้นที่เป้าหมาย
