การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์แบบมีส่วนร่วมที่ส่งเสริมทักษะการคิดขั้นสูงของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทและความคิดเห็นของผู้มีส่วนร่วมในการพัฒนาและการใช้หลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์ และเพื่อศึกษาผลการใช้หลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์แบบมีส่วนร่วมที่ส่งเสริมทักษะการคิดขั้นสูงของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1 ประชากรที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล ได้แก่ ครูในกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ จำนวน 9 คน รองผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายวิชาการ จำนวน 1 คน และหัวหน้าวิชาการฝ่ายพัฒนาหลักสูตร จำนวน 1 คน ผู้รู้ในชุมชน จำนวน 8 คน กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ นักเรียนในระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 1/1 โรงเรียนแคนดงพิทยาคม อำเภอแคนดง จังหวัดบุรีรัมย์ จำนวน 32 คน ในภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2558 โดยการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ประกอบด้วยแบบบันทึกโครงร่างหลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตร์แบบมีส่วนร่วม แบบบันทึกสาระที่ได้จากการสนทนากลุ่ม หลักสูตรรายวิชาโครงงานวิทยาศาสตร์กับวิถีชีวิตในชุมชน จำนวน 5 หน่วยการเรียนรู้ แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้ จำนวน 10 แผน ใช้เวลาเรียน 20 ชั่วโมง แบบบันทึกพฤติกรรมบทบาทการมีส่วนร่วม แบบบันทึกการสะท้อนคิดจากคณะครู แบบสัมภาษณ์ผู้รู้ในชุมชน และแบบวัดทักษะการคิดขั้นสูง
