โครงงานเรื่อง หล่าเพ็ด นี้ เกิดขึ้นเนื่องจากสมาชิกในกลุ่มต้องการที่จะศึกษาวิธีการทำ หล่าเพ็ด ( Laphet) และประเทศพม่าเป็น 1 ใน 10 ประเทศของสมาชิกอาเซียน ที่จะต้องก้าวเข้าสู่ความเป็นประชาคมอาเซียนในปี พ.ศ.2558 จึงจำเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่พวกเราจะต้องเรียนรู้อาหารประจำชาติของประเทศพม่า สมาชิกในกลุ่มจึงระดมความคิดกันทำโครงงานนี้ขึ้น เพื่อศึกษาอาหารของประเทศพม่า
