สงครามเก้าทัพเป็นสงครามใหญ่ครั้งแรกภายหลังพระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธยอดฟ้าจุฬาโลกมหาราช สถาปนากรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ได้เพียง 3 ปี ในสงครามนี้ข้าศึกได้ยกกำลังพลประมาณ 144,000 คน เพื่อพิชิตไทยให้ได้ ถ้าเราพ่ายแพ้ก็ยากที่จะฟื้นตัวขึ้นมาได้อีก ดังนั้นสงครามครั้งนี้จึงมีความสำคัญมากต่ออนาคตของเมืองไทย
