นโยบายของสภาการพยาบาลแห่งประเทศไทยเกี่ยวกับ AEC
วิชาชีพพยาบาลเป็นวิชาชีพ 1 ใน 7 ของวิชาชีพที่ได้รับการประกาศรับรองว่าเป็นที่ต้องการของกลุ่มสมาชิกกลุ่มอาเซียนสามารถเดินทางระหว่างได้อย่างเสรี ดังนั้นสภาการพยาบาลมีนโยบายเพื่อรองรับการเคลื่อนย้ายของบุคคลากรวิชาชีพ โดยมีแนวทางและนโยบายด้านต่างๆ ดังนี้
แนวทางการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียนของวิชาชีพการพยาบาลและการผดุงครรภ์
คณะกรรมการสภาการพยาบาลในการประชุมครั้งที่ 7/2555 วันที่ 13 กรกฎาคม 2555 มีมติให้ความเห็นชอบแนวทางการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียนของวิชาชีพการพยาบาลและการผดุงครรภ์ดังนี้
แนวทางที่ 1 ส่งเสริมการผลิตกำลังคนวิชาชีพการพยาบาลและการผดุงครรภ์ทั้งด้านปริมาณและคุณภาพ
