จังหวัดพะเยาเป็นจังหวัดที่ไม่ได้มีสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวมากมายเหมือนจังหวัดอื่น ส่วนมากจังหวัดพะเยาก็จะมีแต่สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติและวัดต่างๆ แล้วสถานที่ที่ฉันเลือกก็คือ วัดศรีโคมคำ หรือ รู้จักกันในชื่อวัดหลวง สถานที่แห่งนี้เป็นสถานที่ที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ในจังหวัดพะเยาและภาคเหนือ เพราะเป็นที่รู้จักกันทั่วภาคเหนือ วัดศรีโคมคำแห่งนี้มีสถานที่ใกล้เคียงก็คือ หอวัฒนธรรมนิทัศน์และกว๊านพะเยา วัดศรีโคมคำจะมีพระพุทธที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ก็คือพระเจ้าตนหลวงที่หลายๆคนรู้จักกัน สถานที่แห่งนี้ไม่ได้มีความสนุกสนานอะไรมากมาย แต่ที่ฉันเลือกก็เพราะว่ามีความสำคัญต่อจังหวัดพะเยาถือว่าเป็นสถานที่ที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่ประชาชนที่นับถือศาสนาพุทธนับถือกัน การที่ฉันเลือกก้มีอื่นหลากหลายเหตุผลมากมาย แต่สถานที่นี้เป็นสถานที่ที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงการดำรงชีวิตของคนในสมัยก่อน เพราะที่นั้นมีหอวัฒนธรรมนิทัศน์ที่จะจัดแสดงวัตถุโบราณต่างๆ บริเวณเขตวัดหลวงมีพื้นที่ที่กว้างมาก แล้วพระพุทธรูปที่เราเห็นกันจนถึงปัจจุบันนี้ที่บอกไปเมื่อข้างต้นก็คือพระเจ้าตนหลวง เป็นพระพุทธรูปที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของภาคเหนือ ซึ่งมี ความกว้าง14เมตร และ ความสูง16เมตร เป็นพระพุทธรูปปูนปั้นปิดด้วยทอง
