การศึกษางานวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ ศึกษารูปแบบการให้บริการสถานประกอบการและสถานสงเคราะห์ผู้สูงอายุ และความพึงพอใจของรูปแบบการให้บริการสถานประกอบการและสถานสงเคราะห์ผู้สูงอายุ ในอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดขอนแก่น กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้คือผู้สูงอายุที่เคยใช้บริการสถานประกอบการดูแลผู้สูงอายุ ในเขตอำเภอเมือง จังหวัดขอนแก่น จำนวน 400 คน โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล คือ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และในการทดสอบสมมติฐานใช้ค่าสถิติ t-test โดยมีการกำหนดนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามส่วนใหญ่ใช้บริการสถานบริการของภาคเอกชนมากกว่าภาครัฐบาล ในอำเภอเมืองจังหวัดขอนแก่น โดยการจำแนกรูปแบบการให้บริการของสถานบริการผู้สูงอายุในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุดในรูปแบบของเอกชนคิดเป็นร้อยละ 61.5 ผู้ใช้บริการสถานบริการผู้สูงอายุในรูปแบบของภาครัฐ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 38.5 และจำแนกรูปแบบการให้บริการในแต่ละด้านได้รูปแบบการดูแล 5 ด้าน คือด้านบุคลากรและเจ้าหน้าที่ ด้านสุขภาพ ด้านที่อยู่อาศัย ด้านอาหาร และด้านระบบอุปกรณ์
ผลการศึกษาด้านความพึงพอใจของผู้สูอายุ ในการให้บริการดูแลผู้สูงอายุของสถานบริการดูแลผู้สูงอายุทั้งภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน ในอำเภอเมืองจังหวัดขอนแก่น มีความพึงพอใจในการบริการของสถานบริการดูแลผู้สูงอายุมีความพึงพอใจโดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด 1. ด้านบุคลากรและเจ้าหน้าที่มีทักษะและความรู้ในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุและมีบุคลากรที่เพียงพอต่อการบริการ 2. ด้านสุขภาพที่มีกิจกรรมนันทนาการให้ผู้สูงอายุเลือกทำอย่างหลากหลาย เช่น เต้นลีลาศ งานตัดเย็บ 3. ด้านที่อยู่อาศัยมีการจัดสภาพแวดล้อมที่เหมาะสมกับผู้สูงอายุ รวมทั้งบรรยากาศถ่ายเทได้สะดวก 4. ด้านอาหารมีการจัดเตรียมอาหารให้เหมาะสมสำหรับผู้ป่วยหรือให้เหมาะสมกับโรคประจำตัวของผู้รับบริการแต่ละคน 5. ด้านระบบและอุปกรณ์มีการจัดลำดับในการบริการอย่างมีมาตรฐาน ระบบรักษาความปลอดภัย
