เนื่องในปัจจุบัน ประเทศไทยได้รับผลกระทบหลายอย่างไม่ว่า จะเป็นเรื่องเศรษฐกิจหรือการเมืองที่ส่งผลกระทบให้คนที่อยู่ในประเทศมีความคิดเห็นที่ไม่เหมือนกัน ซึ่งส่งผลให้ประเทศไทยได้เจอกับความท้าทายเรื่องสิทธิมนุษยชนมานานถึง14 ปี และสิ่งที่ฉันคิดว่า"คนไทย"จะต้องมีความรู้ความสัมพันธ์เกี่ยวกับเรื่องของสิทธิมนุษยชนกับประชาธิปไตย ได้ดังนี้
ก่อนอื่น"คนไทย" ต้องเข้าใจความหมายของคำว่า สิทธิมนุษยชนและประชาธิปไตย ว่ามีความหมายอะไรบ้าง และสามารถสัมพันธ์กันได้หรือไม่ ทำไม
สิทธิมนุษยชน หมายถึง การที่ทุกคนมี สิทธิ เสรีภาพ ในการกระทำอะไรก็ได้ ที่ไม่ส่งผลให้คนอื่นเดือนร้อน
ส่วนประชาธิปไตย หมายถึง ระบอบการปกครองของรัฐ ซึ่งบริหารอำนาจรัฐมาจากเสียงข้างมากของพลเมือง โดยพลเมืองอาจใช้อำนาจของตนโดยตรงหรือผ่านผู้แทนที่ตนเลือกไปใช้อำนาจแทนก็ได้ ประชาธิปไตยเป็น การปกครองของประชาชน โดยประชาชน และเพื่อประชาชน หรือ ทางความเสมอภาคทางกฎหมายของพลเมืองทุกคน และมีสิทธิเข้าถึงอำนาจโดยเท่าเทียมกัน ส่วนอิสรภาพได้มาจากสิทธิและเสรีภาพตามที่กฎหมายบัญญัติ ซึ่งจะได้รับการคุ้มครองเสมอกันโดยรัฐธรรมนูญ
