การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสำรวจโรคเรื้อรังในเกษตรกรตำบลบึงพระ จังหวัดพิษณุโลก ใช้การศึกษาเชิงสำรวจแบบภาคตัดขวาง (Cross-sectional study) เก็บข้อมูลในเกษตรกรหมู่ที่ 3 บ้านบึงพระ ตำบลบึงพระ ที่มีอายุตั้งแต่ 20 ปีขึ้นไป จำนวน 138 คน โดยใช้แบบสอบถาม
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีเพศชายและเพศหญิงในสัดส่วนที่ใกล้เคียงกัน ส่วนใหญ่จะอยู่ในช่วงอายุ 50 – 59 ปี ประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกรรม ร้อยละ 89.86 พืชที่ปลูกมากที่สุดคือ ผัก ร้อยละ 49.70 มีระยะห่างระหว่างบ้านกับแปลงปลูกพืชจะอยู่ในช่วง น้อยกว่าหรือเท่ากับ 100 เมตร ร้อยละ 53.62 และพบว่าเกษตรกรเคยเข้าไป หรือเดินผ่านพื้นที่เพาะปลูกเป็นประจำร้อยละ 54.35 ส่วนมากจะเคยใช้สารกำจัดศัตรูพืช ร้อยละ77.54 และไม่เคยไปหาหมอ หรือ ไปขอรับบริการด้านสุขภาพเลย ร้อยละ 36.96 นอกจากนี้การสำรวจพบว่า เกษตรกรส่วนใหญ่ป่วยเป็นโรคความดันโลหิตสูง อยู่ร้อยละ 26.09 ป่วยเป็นโรคเบาหวาน ร้อยละ 7.97 และป่วยเป็นโรคต้อกระจก ร้อยละ 6.35 ซึ่งในกลุ่มเกษตรกรนี้มีประวัติการเจ็บป่วยของญาติ ป่วยเป็นโรคเบาหวาน ร้อยละ 16.23 ป่วยเป็นโรคมะเร็งปอด ร้อยละ 2.90 และป่วยเป็นโรคมะเร็ง ร้อยละ 2.17 ตามลำดับ
