ผลการศึกษาค้นคว้าพบว่า
การศึกษาประวัติความเป็นมาของข้าวต้มมัด พบว่า ข้าวต้มมัดเป็นขนมที่ชาวสุรินทร์นิยมทำ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นงานประเพณี หรือ วัฒนธรรม วันสำคัญต่างๆ เพื่อเซ่นไหว้บรรพบุรุษ เป็นของทานเล่น ซึ่งข้าวต้มกล้วยนี้มีวิธีการทำง่ายและใช้วัตถุดิบที่หาได้ในท้องถิ่นสุรินทร์
จังหวัดสุรินทร์ เป็นจังหวัดที่มีวัฒนธรรมและประเพณีเก่าแก่ที่สืบทอดมานานจากบรรพบุรุษสู่รุ่นหลาน โดยในแต่ละประเพณีจะมีการเซ่นไหว้บรรพบุรุษ และมีขนมมากมาย ข้าวต้มมัดเป็นขนมชนิดหนึ่งที่ชาวสุรินทร์นิยมทำเพื่อเซ่นไหว้บรรพบุรุษ
