ภาษาอังกฤษถือเป็นภาษาที่สองของไทยและเป็นภาษาที่ใช้กันมากที่สุดในโลก ดังนั้นภาษาอังกฤษจึงเป็นภาษาสากลที่ใช้สื่อสารกันได้ทุกชาติทุกภาษาโดยเฉพาะในปัจจุบันซึ่งเป็นยุคโลกาภิวัตน์ ในการจัดการเรียนการสอนจึงให้ความสำคัญกับการใช้ภาษาเพื่อการสื่อสารทั้งในด้านการฟัง พูด อ่านและเขียน จากการศึกษาสภาพปัจจุบันและปัญหาของนักเรียนโรงเรียนบ้านทุ่งนา พบว่า มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนอยู่ในระดับต่ำ โดยเฉพาะในด้านทักษะการเขียน นักเรียนส่วนใหญ่ไม่สามารถเขียนภาษาอังกฤษได้ถูกต้องตามหลักไวยากรณ์ โดยมีสาเหตุคือนักเรียนได้รับการฝึกทักษะการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษอย่างไม่เหมาะสมเท่าที่ควร และขาดนวัตกรรมที่มีคุณภาพสำหรับใช้ประกอบการฝึกทักษะการเขียน ผู้ศึกษาในฐานะเป็นครูผู้สอนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับปัญหาโดยตรง จึงทำการศึกษาเรื่องการพัฒนาทักษะการเขียนภาษาอังกฤษ นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 โดยใช้แบบฝึกทักษะการเขียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเข้ามาช่วยเพื่อเพิ่มความเข้าใจมากขึ้น
