การศึกษารายงานสหกิจศึกษาฉบับนี้จัดทำขึ้นโดยมีจุดประสงค์เพื่อลดความผิดพลาดในการคืนสินค้าและเพื่อลดระยะเวลาในการค้นหาสินค้า กรณีศึกษาบริษัท สยามแม็คโคร จำกัด (มหาชน) สาขาชัยภูมิ เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบการจัดเก็บสินค้าคืนซัพพลายเออร์ ลดความผิดพลาดในการคืนสินค้า จากการศึกษาการดำเนินงานพบปัญหา คือ จัดเก็บสินค้าคืนไม่ได้ถูกกำหนดอย่างชัดเจนและสินค้าวางปะปนกันอย่างไม่เป็นระเบียบซึ่งพนักงานส่งสินค้าซัพพลายเออร์ นำสินค้าคืนกลับไปผิด ผู้ศึกษาจึงเสนอแนวทางการแก้ไขปัญหาโดยนำการจัดเก็บสินค้าโดยกำหนดตำแหน่งตายตัว(Fixed Location System) เพื่อช่วยกำหนดพื้นที่จัดเก็บสินค้าคืนได้ชัดเจนยิ่งขึ้นและเป็นระเบียบไม่มีการวางสินค้าคืนปะปนกัน จากนั้นได้นำหลักการ ECRS และการควบคุมด้วยสายตา (Visual Control) มาประยุกต์ใช้ในการทำงานโดยการปรับปรุงวิธีการทำงานและสร้างอุปกรณ์เพื่อช่วยในการทำงานให้ง่ายและสะดวกมากขึ้น เป็นผลให้ลดความผิดพลาดในการคืนสินค้าและสามารถใช้ประโยชน์จากพื้นที่จัดเก็บสินค้าคืนได้อย่างเต็มความสามารถ
