๑) จากการศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร และจากเจ้าของภาษาโดยตรง (Native Speaker) มีบางถิ่นที่หน่วยเสียงสระประสม (Diphthong) มีเพียง ๒ หน่วยเสียง คือ /ia/ และ /ɯa/ ซึ่งหน่วยเสียงสระประสม /ɯa/ ในภาษาไทยมาตรฐานเป็นปฏิภาคกับหน่วยเสียง /ia/ ในภาษาไทยถิ่นอีสาน เช่น /sə̌:/ หรือ /sǐa/ “เสือ” เป็นต้น
๒) บางถิ่นบางจังหวัดหน่วยเสียงสระ /ə:/ เป็นปฏิภาคกับหน่วยเสียง สระประสม /ɯa/ ในภาษาไทยมาตรฐาน เช่น /sə̌:/ /sɯ̌a/ “เสือ” เป็นต้น
