Project: SPORT BEVERAGES
Role (position): I think that cooperation is very important when we have to do a group’s work, especially if each of the member doesn’t know very well the subject which he/she is going to learn. This is the reason why in our project the students decided to divide the labor person by person, in order to make easier the activity and don’t focus on too many aspects. After that, of course, everyone shares with others opinions, and shows what he/she has done before.
My role consisted to collect step by step all the data come from the project in order to proceed with the statements needed for the report: Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement but also I participated actively to the sales of beverages since I wanted to see how a project like this can be made and where we have to improve.
What have I learned?: Of course an activity like this interested me very much before starting it, because I have never had the opportunity to do something similar and I wanted to see if I could have some skills in business. Now I can say that I have learned a lot for what concern theory: how to do financial statements, how to manage the money you have and somehow I have tried to understand how to create profit, a very difficult part of a business because you have to consider many and many aspects. Of course I am not ready to open my own business right now, as I told before, a businessman has to focus attention on many things: manage the employees, create advertisement, evaluate the risk etc.…
A suggestion for the future: From this experience I have learned that is difficult to work in a group for several reasons: time; competence; manage the work.
If I had the opportunity to do this project a second time I would ask more time to my mates in order to organize better the individual work since every time we met we had always to do very quickly our labors missing important points many times. A part the question of time, I would make more advertisement of our sales because a lot of people told us they really appreciate our initiative but maybe not everyone knows about it. I am not from Thailand and I have some difficult to communicate with people and this is the reason why I haven’t done any advertisement, honestly even because I didn’t know where people can easily see it.
I want to thank you all the people I knew during the course and especially the teacher who gives me very useful information for my future inside the business field.
