ไมเคิล แจ็คสัน (อังกฤษ: Michael Jac
ไมเคิล แจ็คสัน (อังกฤษ: Michael Jackson) (29 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2501-25 มิถุนายน พ.ศ. 2552) มีชื่อเต็มว่า ไมเคิล โจเซฟ แจ็คสัน (Michael Joseph Jackson) หรือเรียกย่อ ๆ ว่า เอ็มเจ (MJ) หรือแจ็กโก้ (Jacko) เป็นนักร้องชาวอเมริกันที่มีชื่อเสียงโด่งดังมากจนได้รับการขนานนามว่าเป็น ราชาเพลงป็อป หรือ King of Pop
ไมเคิล แจ็กสัน เริ่มต้นอาชีพนักดนตรีในฐานะนักร้องนำของวง The Jackson 5 เมื่ออายุได้เพียง 7 ปี และได้ออกงานเดี่ยวชิ้นแรกในอัลบั้ม Got to Be There ออกวางจำหน่ายในปี พ.ศ. 2514 ในขณะที่ยังเป็นสมาชิกของวง The Jackson 5 อยู่และมีอายุเพียง 11 ปี ไมเคิล แจ็คสันก็สามารถคว้าอันดับ 1 บนชาร์ตเพลงมาครองได้มากถึง 3 เพลงฮิตแล้ว
ปี พ.ศ. 2522 มีผลงานออกมาชุด “ Off the Wall ” อัลบั้มเปิดตัวที่ทำยอดขายกว่า 20 ล้านก๊อปปี้ทั่วโลกตามด้วยอัลบั้มประวัติศาสตร์ “ Thriller ”(พ.ศ. 2525) ซึ่งเป็นเจ้าของสถิติอัลบั้มที่มียอดขายสูงสุดตลอดกาลถึง 60 ล้านชุด และ “ Bad ” ในปี พ.ศ. 2530 ที่สร้างสถิติอีกครั้งด้วยการเป็นอัลบั้มที่มีซิงเกิ้ลต่าง ๆ ขึ้นถึงอันดับ 1 บิลบอร์ดมากที่สุด
ปี พ.ศ. 2534 ไมเคิลกลับมาพร้อมกับอัลบั้ม “ Dangerous ” ที่มีเพลง “ Black or White ” ติดอันดับ 1 ทั้งในบิลบอร์ดและชาร์ตเพลงทั่วโลก ก่อนที่จะส่งอัลบั้ม “ History ” กับเพลง “ You’re Not Alone ” ซึ่งเป็นซิงเกิ้ลแรกในประวัติศาสตร์ที่ติดอันดับ 1 ตั้งแต่สัปดาห์แรกที่วางจำหน่าย และล่าสุดกับ “ Invincible ” (พ.ศ. 2544) ซึ่งทิ้งห่างจากงานชุดที่แล้วถึง 10 ปีเต็ม
หลังจากว่างเว้นจากการทัวร์คอนเสิร์ตตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2540 ในเดือนมีนาคม พ.ศ. 2552 ไมเคิลได้ประกาศจะจัดคอนเสิร์ต ดิส อิส อิท ณ โอทู อารีนา กรุงลอนดอน ประเทศอังกฤษ โดยแรกเริ่มจัดเพียง 10 รอบ แต่ด้วยแฟนเพลงที่ให้ความสนใจคอนเสิร์ตนี้เป็นอย่างมาก จึงได้เพิ่มรอบเป็น 50 รอบ ตั้งแต่วันที่ 8 กรกฎาคม พ.ศ. 2552 ถึง 24 กุมภาพันธ์ พ.ศ. 2553[ต้องการแหล่งอ้างอิง] แต่ก็ได้เสียชีวิตไปก่อนที่จะถึงเวลาดังกล่าว โดยเสียชีวิต จากอาการหัวใจวาย ในบ้านพัก และเจ้าหน้าที่ได้นำร่างไมเคิล มาช่วยยื้อชีวิต แต่ไม่ทันการที่ ศูนย์พยาบาล ใน UCLA
ไมเคิล แจ็กสัน เป็นที่รู้จักของคนไทยส่วนหนึ่งขึ้นมาจากมีชื่อถูกอ้างถึงในเพลง ทับหลัง ของคาราบาว ในปี พ.ศ. 2531 ที่มีเนื้อร้องในท่อนแยกว่า "เอาไมเคิล แจ็กสันคืนไป เอาพระนารายณ์คืนมา" ซึ่งเป็นบทเพลงที่ได้รับความนิยมจากกระแสเรียกร้องทวงคืนทับหลังนารายณ์ บรรทมสินธุ์จากสหรัฐอเมริกา
เคยเดินทางมาแสดงคอนเสิร์ตในประเทศไทย 2 ครั้ง โดยครั้งแรกในกลางปี พ.ศ. 2536 เป็นการโปรโมตปิดอัลบั้ม Dangerous กำหนดการแสดง 2 รอบ ในวันที่ 21 สิงหาคม และ 22 สิงหาคม ที่สนามศุภชลาศัย โดยทางบริษัท เทโรเอ็นเตอร์เทนเมนต์ เป็นผู้จัด ซึ่งก่อนการแสดงได้มีการโปรโมตทางช่อง 3 เป็นรายการพิเศษเกี่ยวกับไมเคิล แจ็กสัน มี เมทินี กิ่งโพยม เป็นพิธีกร โดยออกอากาศในช่วงเที่ยงของวันเสาร์-อาทิตย์ อยู่นานนับเดือน
คอนเสิร์ตในครั้งนี้เป็นคอนเสิร์ตที่ได้รับความสนใจอย่างท่วมท้นจากชาว ไทย และกลายเป็นกระแสวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ในสังคมอยู่ช่วงหนึ่ง ถึงความเหมาะสมของการจัดแสดง เพราะบางส่วนเห็นท่าเต้นลูบเป้าของไมเคิลไม่เหมาะสมต่อวัฒนธรรมไทยและเมื่อ เดินทางมาถึง ไมเคิลได้แต่งตัวแปลก ๆ เมื่อลงจากเครื่องบินส่วนตัวด้วยผ้าปิดหน้า โดยเจ้าตัวอ้างว่าได้ยินว่ากรุงเทพ ฯ มีควันไอเสียเยอะ ซึ่งส่วนที่ไม่เห็นด้วยกับการแสดงเห็นว่าเป็นการแสดงออกที่ดูถูกประเทศไทย อีกทั้งต้องใช้ไฟฟ้าเป็นจำนวนมากในการแสดง และราคาบัตรที่เข้าชมก็นับว่าแพงมากด้วย คือ 500, 800, 1,000, 1,500 และ 2,500 บาท โดยคอนเสิร์ตวันแรกจบลงด้วยดี แต่ในวันที่ 22 สิงหาคม ไมเคิล อ้างว่าป่วย ขอเลื่อนออกไปเป็นวันที่ 23 สิงหาคม แต่เมื่อมาถึงก็ขอเลื่อนไปอีก สร้างความไม่พอใจแก่แฟน ๆ จนเกิดเป็นจลาจลย่อย ๆ หน้าสนาม ซึ่งต้องใช้เทปเสียงของเจ้าตัวมาเปิดยืนยันว่าป่วยจริง ๆ ขอเลื่อนไปเป็นวันที่ 24 สิงหาคม อีกที คราวนี้เมื่อถึงวันที่ 24 สิงหาคมจริง ๆ ก็สามารถจัดการแสดงได้และจบลงด้วยดี ซึ่งปรากฏการณ์คอนเสิร์ตในครั้งนี้นับเป็นการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตใหญ่ของนักร้อง ชาวต่างประเทศระดับโลกครั้งแรกของไทย และต่อมาก็ได้มีศิลปิน นักร้องต่างประเทศทยอยเดินทางมาแสดงคอนเสิร์ตในประเทศไทยเรื่อย ๆ ตราบจนปัจจุบัน ซึ่งหลังจากเดินทางออกจากประเทศไทยแล้ว ไมเคิลก็ได้เดินทางต่อไปยังประเทศบรูไน เพื่อเปิดแสดงคอนเสิร์ตที่นั่น โดยมีสุลต่าลบรูไนเป็นผู้จัดและเปิดให้ประชาชนเข้าชมฟรี
ครั้งที่ 2 คือ ในกลางปี พ.ศ. 2538 เป็นการโปรโมตอัลบั้ม History จัดแสดงที่อิมแพ็ค อารีน่า เมืองทองธานี แสดง 2 รอบอีกเช่นเคย แต่ครั้งนี้ไม่ได้รับความสนใจเท่าครั้งแรก
ในปี พ.ศ. 2542 ไมเคิลได้เผยว่าจะมีการจัดแสดงคอนเสิร์ตรอบพิเศษ โดยจะจัดแสดงทั่วอเมริกาเพียง 10 ที่ ซึ่งตัวไมเคิลเองอยากจะแสดงและโชว์อีกครั้ง แต่ในการแสดงอาจจะมีการเปิดเทปในการแสดงเป็นบางช่วง เพราะตัวไมเคิลเองอาจร้องไม่ไหว และการเต้นอาจจะไม่สนุกเหมือนครั้งที่ผ่านมา ในการแสดงครั้งนี้จะเปิดการแสดงในชุด Jackson 5 ซึ่งมีการรวมตัวเหล่าพี่น้องของไมเคิล ในการแสดงจะมีเพลงแค่ 16 เพลง ในชุด Jackson 5 จะมี 6 เพลงและเพลงของไมเคิลเอง 10 เพลง คือ You Are Not Alone, Heal the World, Billie Jean, Man in the Mirror, Will You Be There, Black or White, Beat It, Stanger in Moscow, Rock with You และ Bad และจะจัดขึ้นทั่วโลกในปี พ.ศ. 2552 เพียง 9 ประเทศ คือ สหรัฐอเมริกา, สหราชอาณาจักร, ญี่ปุ่น, อิตาลี, เสปน, เกาหลีใต้, ไต้หวัน, ฝรั่งเศส รวมถึงประเทศไทยด้วย ในราคาค่าตัวสำหรับการเดินทางไปแสดงคอนเสิร์ตถึง 20,000,000 ปอนด์ หรือคิดเป็นเงินไทยก็ประมาณ 650,000,000 บาท คอนเสิร์ตจะจัดขึ้นในประเทศไทยที่สนามศุภลาศัย ที่จุคนได้ถึง 70,000 คน โดยคาดว่าค่าบัตรเข้าชมจะมีราคา 1000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000 บาทโดยประมาณ ในวันที่ 8 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2551 ไมเคิล แจ๊กสัน และพี่น้องเขาให้สร้างประวัติศาสตร์อีกครั้งเมื่อได้ปรากฏตัวอีกครั้งในรูป แบบคอนเสิร์ตเต็มที่ และทำให้นักข่าวตกตะลึง เมื่อสถานที่แสดงศิลปินวงอื่น ๆ ยังสามารถทำได้เพียง 50,000 คน เท่านั้น แต่ในที่นี้ไมเคิลได้ทำลายสถิติทั้งหมด เพียง 1 ครั้งเท่านั้น โดยมีผู้ชม ถึง 125,000 คนเลยทีเดียว
