กรมการท่องเที่ยว กระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา เดินหน้ายกระดับมาตรฐานการบริการรถโดยสารเพื่อการท่องเที่ยว จับมือมหาวิทยาลัยกรุงเทพและองค์กรพันธมิตรระดมความคิดเห็นจากทุกภาคส่วนเพื่อประมวลความคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะในการยกร่าง ก่อนทำการทดสอบภาคสนามและนำเสนอต่อคณะกรรมการมาตรฐานการท่องเที่ยวไทย เตรียมพร้อมรับการขยายตัวของจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวในยุคเปิดประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน AEC

อธิบดีกรมการท่องเที่ยว เปิดเผยว่า “โครงการพัฒนามาตรฐานการบริการรถโดยสารเพื่อการท่องเที่ยว ประจำปี พ.ศ. 2557 เป็นหนึ่งในโครงการตามนโยบายยกระดับมาตรฐานด้านการท่องเที่ยวของกระทรวงการท่องเที่ยวและกีฬา 
ซึ่งได้กำหนดแผนพัฒนาและบูรณาการกับการขนส่งมวลชนขนาดใหญ่เพื่อสนับสนุนการท่องเที่ยว พัฒนาเส้นทางคมนาคมทางบกให้มีมาตรฐานความสะอาด สะดวก รวดเร็ว และปลอดภัยตามหลักสากล ซึ่งเป็นไปตามแผนพัฒนาการท่องเที่ยวแห่งชาติ พ.ศ. 2555 – 2559”
