นายบุญญนิตย์ วงศ์รักมิตร รองผู้ว่าการกิจการสังคม การไฟฟ้าฝ่ายผลิตแห่งประเทศไทย(กฟผ.) เปิดเผยว่า ความคืบหน้าโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าถ่านหินกระบี่นั้น ล่าสุดขณะนี้กระทรวงพลังงานอยู่ระหว่างการหารือวิธีการและแนวทางในการรับฟังความคิดเห็นก่อนที่จะสรุปแนวทางและดำเนินการ คาดว่าจะนำเสนอที่ประชุมคณะกรรมการบริหารนโยบายพลังงาน (กบง.) ในเดือนมกราคม 2560โดยกระบวนการเหล่านี้กฟผ.จะไม่ได้เข้าไปยุ่งเกี่ยวแต่อย่างใด ทั้งนี้อยากให้ชาวกระบี่ออกมาแสดงความคิดเห็นว่าชุมชนแท้จริง ต้องการอย่างไรไม่ทางใดก็ทางหนึ่งว่า เห็นด้วยหรือไม่เห็นด้วยให้ชัดเจน ด้วยวิธีการใดก็ตาม เช่น ลงชื่อสนับสนุนหรือคัดค้าน หรืออาจใช้วิธีติดป้ายสนับสนุนหรือคัดค้าน ขอให้ชุมชนออกมาปกป้องสิทธิของคนในชุมชน ไม่ให้คนนอกพื้นที่มาเป็นผู้กำหนดความต้องการแทนชุมชน
