ดังนั้น สำนักงานอุทยานการเรียนรู้ (สอร.) ในสังกัดสำนักงานบริหารและพัฒนาองค์ความรู้ (องค์การมหาชน) ซึ่งมีวัตถุประสงค์การจัดตั้งเพื่อมุ่งเน้นการปลูกฝังและส่งเสริมนิสัยรักการอ่าน การเรียนรู้ และการแสวงหาความรู้อย่างสร้างสรรค์ตลอดชีวิตจึงร่วมกับภาคีเครือข่าย ได้แก่ กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ สำนักงานกองทุนสนับสนุนการสร้างเสริมสุขภาพ จัดทำโครงการ"Read Thailand : อ่านเถิด...เด็กไทย อ่านถวายเจ้าฟ้านักอ่าน" เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ทรงเจริญพระชนมายุครบ 60 พรรษา และเป็นการปลูกฝัง สร้างเสริมนิสัยรักการอ่านและการเรียนรู้ สำหรับเด็กในระดับประถมศึกษาตอนปลายในโรงเรียนทุกสังกัด
