วัดกลาง เป็น พระอารามหลวง ชั้นตรี ตั้งอยู่เลขที่ 47 ถนนกาฬสินธุ์ ตำบลกาฬสินธุ์ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์
วัดกลางสร้างเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2389 แต่ไม่ปรากฏหลักฐานเกี่ยวกับผู้สร้างและเจ้าอาวาสรูปแรก วัดกลางมีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองบ้าง ตกต่ำบ้างผลัดเปลี่ยนกันตามยุคตามสมัย จนถึงสมัยพระธรรมวงศาจารย์ (สุข สุขโณ) เจ้าอาวาสรูปก่อน ได้จัดการพัฒนาวัดทั้งด้านวัตถุ การศึกษา และการปฏิบัติธรรมรุดหน้ามาโดยตลอด มีเสนาสนะสิ่งปลูกสร้างถาวรมาตรฐานและถูกต้องตามแบบศิลปะของไทย ที่สวยงามมาก ภายในวัดสะอาดร่มรื่น เหมาะแก่การปฏิบัติศาสนกิจ เป็นวัดตัวอย่างของบรรดาวัดทั้งหลายที่มีในเขตจังหวัดกาฬสินธุ์ มีการศึกษาทั้งคดีโลกและคดีธรรมเหมาะสมกับสมัยนิยม ได้รับการยกย่องจากประชาชนตลอดมาตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน
