การศึกษาวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับสมรรถนะของข้าราชการตำรวจ บก.อ.บช.ส. 2) เพื่อเสนอแนวทางการพัฒนาสมรรถนะของข้าราชการตำรวจ บก.อก.บช.ส. ตามปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล ได้แก่ เพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา สถานภาพการสมรส ระยะเวลาที่ปฏิบัติงานใน บก.อก.บช.ส. และตำแหน่งหน้าที่ ประชากร คือ ข้าราชการตำรวจจำนวน 177 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษาวิจัยเป็นแบบสอบถาม (Questionnaires) การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์เนื้อหา
ผลการศึกษาพบว่า
1. ข้อมูลปัจจัยส่วนบุคคลส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศหญิง อยู่ในช่วงอายุ 31 – 40 ปี มีสถานภาพโสดเป็นส่วนใหญ่ มีการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี ระยะเวลาในการปฏิบัติงานใน บก.อก.บช.ส. 3 – 5 ปี เป็นส่วนใหญ่ และมีตำแหน่งเป็นผู้บังคับหมู่
2. ความคิดเห็นที่มีต่อระดับสมรรถนะของข้าราชการตำรวจ บก.อก.บช.ส โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก และรายด้านอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณารายด้าน พบว่า ด้านจริยธรรมมีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด ด้านการร่วมแรงร่วมใจมีค่าเฉลี่ยรองลงมา และด้านการสั่งสมความเชี่ยวชาญในงานอาชีพมีค่าเฉลี่ยน้อยที่สุด
3. ความคิดเห็นต่อแนวทางในการพัฒนาสมรรถนะของข้าราชการตำรวจ บก.อก.บช.ส. โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก และรายด้านอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณารายด้าน พบว่า ด้านจริยธรรมมีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด ด้านการร่วมแรงร่วมใจมีค่าเฉลี่ยรองลงมา และด้านการสั่งสมความเชี่ยวชาญในงานอาชีพมีค่าเฉลี่ยน้อยที่สุด ซึ่งเป็นไปในแนวทางเดียวกันกับความคิดเห็นที่มีต่อระดับสมรรถนะ
