การศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจเพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างต้นทุนทางจิตวิทยากับภาวะผู้นำในนักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายโรงเรียนสามเสนวิทยาลัย ปีการศึกษา 2556 จำนวน 345 คน เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม 3 ชุด ได้แก่ แบบสอบถามข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบสอบถามต้นทุนทางจิตวิทยาสำหรับคนไทย และแบบสอบถามภาวะผู้นำ ผลการศึกษาพบว่าต้นทุนทางจิตวิทยาโดยรวมมีความสัมพันธ์ทางบวกกับภาวะผู้นำ ในระดับ ปานกลาง อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติระดับ .01 และปัจจัยความเชื่อมั่นในความสามารถของตนเองตามศักยภาพที่มีอยู่ เป็นตัวแปรเดียวที่สามารถทำนายภาวะผู้นำของกลุ่มตัวอย่างได้ร้อยละ 28.8มีค่าสัมประสิทธ์สหสัมพันธ์เป็น 0.537 ความคลาดเคลื่อนมาตรฐานในการทำนายเท่ากับ ± 0.465
