ภาวะการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางเศรษฐกิจสังคมและการเมืองของประเทศไทยในปัจจุบันนั้น ย่อมก่อกำเนิดขึ้นได้ตลอดเวลา ตามลักษณะแห่งปัจจัยในแต่ละด้าน แต่สำหรับการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางด้านเศรษฐกิจ นับได้ว่ามีความสำคัญใหญ่หลวง ซึ่งจะมีผลกระทบโดยตรงต่อการดำรงชีพของประชาชนโดยส่วนรวมในแต่ละช่วงเวลา ประชาชนส่วนใหญ่จึงต้องมีการปรับตัวในการดำรงชีวิตให้สอดคล้องกับสภาพเศรษฐกิจในปัจจุบันด้วย กล่าวคือต้องมีการประหยัดค่าใช้จ่าย ประยุกต์ใช้สิ่งใกล้ตัวให้เกิดประโยชน์ทดแทนและสูงสุด เนื่องด้วยเหตุผลดังกล่าว ผู้จัดทำจึงมีแนวคิดประยุกต์เอาความรู้ที่ได้เรียน มาคิดค้นสิ่งประดิษฐ์เพื่อให้ตอบสนองและแก้ไขปัญหาดังกล่าว คือเครื่องชาร์จโทรศัพท์มือถือจากพลังงานลม โดยมีแนวคิดมาจากกังหันลม ที่เปลี่ยนพลังงานลมให้เป็นพลังงานไฟฟ้า ซึ่งนำมาประยุกต์ โดยลดขนาดให้เล็กลง หลักการทำงานของสิ่งประดิษฐ์นี้ คือ นำใบพัดมาต่อเข้ากับไดนาโมและเครื่องชาร์จไฟ และเมื่อมีลมพัดผ่านมาที่ใบพัด จะทำให้เกิดแรงไปหมุนที่ไดนาโม และทำให้เกิดกระแสไฟฟ้าขึ้น
โครงการนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษาการแปลงพลังงานลมให้เป็นพลังงานไฟฟ้าในการชาร์จโทรศัพท์มือถือ เพื่อใช้อุปกรณ์และสิ่งของเหลือใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์ และเพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของผู้ใช้งาน
