งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อใช้หลักการยศาสตร์ในการออกแบบเก้าอี้นั่งเรียนที่จะสนองความต้องการต่อผู้บริโภค โดยได้ศึกษาขั้นตอนการประเมินจากพฤติกรรมของนักศึกษาในท่านั่งที่ไม่ถูกต้องหรือนั่งง้อเป็นเวลานานๆโดยไม่เปลี่ยนอิริยบทซึ่งจะนำไปสู่อาการปวดหลัง ไหล่ และคอ ของการใช้งานเก้าอี้นั่งเรียนในแบบปัจจุบันและได้ประเมินความเหมาะสมของท่าทางการทำงานโดยวิธี RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) จากการศึกษาพบว่ารู้สึกไม่พอใจในการใช้งานเก้าอี้นั่งเรียนแบบปัจจุบัน ผู้วิจัยจึงได้คิดการออกแบบเก้าอี้นั่งเรียนแบบใหม่ขึ้นมาเพื่อจะไปปรับปรุงได้ตามความต้องการของผู้ใช้งานให้มีความสะดวกสบายในการใช้งานโดยพิจารณาจากข้อมูลการวัดสัดส่วนร่างกายของกลุ่มตัวอย่าง จากนั้นทำการประเมินความเหมาะสมของเก้าอี้นั่งเรียนแบบปรับปรุงด้วยวิธีการเดิม
