อาเซียนได้ดำเนินการจัดทำข้อตกลงร่วม ว่าด้วยการยอมรับคุณสมบัติบุคลากรวิชาชีพการท่องเที่ยวอาเซียน (ASEAN MRA) เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกในการเคลื่อนย้ายบุคลากรวิชาชีพ การท่องเที่ยวภายในกล่มุ ประเทศอาเซียน โดยในเบื้องต้นอยู่ในระหว่างดำเนินการ 6 สาขา ได้แก่ House Keeping, Front Office, Food Production, Food & Beverage, Travel Agencies และ Tour Operation จำนวน 32 ตำแหน่งงาน ในปัจจุบัน ได้มีการเตรียมพร้อมมาตรฐานสมรรถนะร่วมสำหรับบุคลากรวิชาชีพทางด้าน House Keeping, Front Office, Food Production และ Food & Beverage เรียบร้อยแล้ว โดยเตรียมจัดการอบรมและทดสอบบุคลากรเพื่อขึ้นทะเบียนบุคลากรวิชาชีพการท่องเที่ยวอาเซียนในลำดับ ต่อไป
