ตั้งอยู่บนถนนสายอำนาจเจริญ-เขมราฐ ห่างจากตัวเมืองประมาณ18 กิโลเมตร แล้วเลี้ยวซ้ายตามทางขึ้นเขาเข้าไปอีกประมาณ 2 กิโลเมตร พื้นที่วัดมีบริเวณกว้างขวาง ประกอบด้วย วิหาร เจดีย์และพระนอนที่ก่อสร้างอย่างสวยงาม ทางด้านทิศเหนือของวิหารมีถ้ำขนาดใหญ่เป็นที่ประดิษฐานพระพุทธรูปที่มีพุทธลักษณะงดงาม นอกจากนี้บริเวณศาลาพันห้องสามารถชมธรรมชาติที่สวยงามโดยรอบแวดล้อมด้วยโขดหินน้อยใหญ่มากมาย เหตุที่ได้ชื่อว่าถ้ำแสงเพชรก็เนื่องมาจากประกายของเกล็ดหินยามเมื่อต้องกับแสงตะวันจะวาววับคล้ายกับแสงเพชร วัดถ้ำแสงเพชร เป็นสถานที่ปฎิบัติธรรมสาย
