การศึกษาเรื่อง ปัญหาขยะในสังคม จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อศึกษา แหล่งกำเนิดของขยะ สาเหตุที่ทำให้เกิดปัญหาการเกิดขยะในสังคม สาเหตุของการเกิดขยะในสังคม และวิธีการกำจัดขยะในสังคม ทั้งนี้สาเหตุ และปัญหาต่างๆที่ทำให้เกิดปัญหาขยะนั้นมีด้วยกันหลายปัจจัย เช่น ประชาชนยังยึดติดกับการแก้ไขปัญหาขยะแบบเดิมๆ เทศบาลไม่มีแหล่งกำจัดขยะเนื่องจากสาเหตุข้อแรก เพราะไม่รู้ว่าจะชี้แจงยังไงให้ประชาชนในพื้นที่เข้าใจ จึงต้องนำขยะไปทิ้งในพื้นที่ห่างไกล นอกพื้นที่ ในป่า สถานที่รกร้าง สร้างปัญหาให้กับชุมชนในพื้นที่นั้นๆตามมา ทุกคนยังมองไม่เห็นคุณค่าของขยะเพราะว่า มีมูลค่าเล็กน้อยไม่ทราบว่าขยะบางชนิดมีมูลค่า เมื่อแยกขยะแล้วจะไปขายที่ไหนหรือมีวิธีใดบ้าง ที่จะจัดการขยะได้โดยเปลี่ยนให้เป็นรายได้เข้ามา เนื่องจากทางภาครัฐยังไม่มีสถานที่และวิธีการที่ถูกต้องในการแก้ไขปัญหาขยะมีการกำจัดขยะที่สามารถรองรับการแยกขยะได้
เทคโนโลยีที่ใช้กำจัดขยะ สามารถกำจัดขยะได้เฉพาะขยะแยกประเภท ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการทำปุ๋ยหมักจากขยะ การทำก๊าซชีวภาพจากขยะเศษอาหาร การนำขยะมาเผาเป็นพลังงานความร้อน เพื่อใช้ในการผลิตไฟฟ้า แต่ขยะที่เข้าสู่กระบวนการกำจัดยังไม่ได้แยกอย่างสมบูรณ์ ทำให้เทคโนโลยีดังกล่าว ประสบปัญหาในการดำเนินการ ดังนั้นการแก้ไขปัญหาขยะต้องเริ่มที่ตัวเราโดยลดความมักง่ายในการทิ้งขยะตามสถานที่ต่างๆไม่ว่าจะเป็น ถนน ริมทางเดิน หรือที่อื่นๆ โดยทำให้เป็นนิสัย และเทศบาลต้องแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างจริงๆจังเพื่อให้การกำจัดขยะมีประสิทธิภาพมากที่สุด เมื่อทุกคนร่วมมือช่วยกันปัญหาขยะก็จะไม่มีในสังคมไทยอีกต่อไป
