การศึกษาชนิดและปริมาณของเชื้อจุลินทรีย์ในร้านรับซื้อของเก่า เทศบาลนครขอนแก่น จังหวัดขอนแก่น จำนวน 15 ร้าน และได้แบ่งร้านรับซื้อของเก่าเป็น 3 ระดับตามการประเมินร้านรับซื้อของเก่าสีเขียว คือ ระดับพื้นฐาน, ระดับดี และระดับดีเยี่ยม โดยใช้เครื่องมือเก็บตัวอย่างในอากาศ Andersen Impactor ผลการศึกษาพบเชื้อจุลินทรีย์ทั้งหมด 17 ชนิด แบ่งเป็นเชื้อแบคทีเรีย จำนวน 6 ชนิด คือ Enterobacteriaceae, Staphylococcus spp. Streptococus spp. Clostridium spp., Bacillus spp. Pseudomonas spp. และพบเชื้อรา จำนวน 11 ชนิด คือ Penicillium spp. Fusarium spp. Cryptococcus spp. Mucor spp., Rhizopus spp., Cladosporium spp., Curvularia spp Eurotium spp. Aspergillus spp., Aspergillus flavus., และ Aspergillus niger. ซึ่งชนิดของเชื้อจุลินทรีย์ที่พบภายในร้านรับซื้อของเก่าในทุกระดับ พบว่ามีชนิดที่ไม่แตกต่างกัน เชื้อแบคทีเรียที่พบมากที่สุด คือ Staphylococcus spp. และ เชื้อราที่พบมากที่สุดคือ Aspergillus spp. เชื้อจุลินทรีย์เฉลี่ยสูงสุดในร้านรับซื้อของเก่าระดับพื้นฐาน รองลงมา ร้านในระดับดี และ ในร้านรับซื้อของเก่าระดับดีเยี่ยม ( 5008.44 CFU/m3 , 3483.03 CFU/m3และ 2056.53 ตามลำดับ ) ปริมาณเชื้อจุลินทรีย์เฉลี่ยสูงที่สุด ในเดือนมีนาคม(1062.26CFU/m3 ) และต่ำสุดในเดือน มกราคม( 507.26CFU/m3) โดย ในเดือนธันวาคมและเดือนมกราคมมีจำนวนร้านรับซื้อของเก่า ที่มีปริมาณจุลินทรีย์ เกิน 500 CFU/ m3 มีจำนวนร้อยละ 86.66 และร้อยละ 33.33 สำหรับในเดือนพฤศจิกายนและเดือนมีนาคม พบว่าร้านรับซื้อของเก่าในทุกร้าน มีปริมาณจุลินทรีย์เกิน 500 CFU/ m3
