อุดม แต้พานิชเกิดเมื่อวันที่ 1 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2511 ที่จังหวัดชลบุรี เป็นบุตรของทองสุข อารีล้น กับสมจิต แต้พานิช มีพี่น้อง 3 คน เขาเป็นลูกคนกลาง
