เมื่อวันที่ 14 เมษายน 2557 กระทรวงการค้าและอุตสาหกรรมสิงคโปร์ (MTI) ประกาศคาดการณ์การเจริญเติบโตของเศรษฐกิจสิงคโปร์ในไตรมาสที่ 1 ( มกราคม – มีนาคม 2557) เพิ่มขึ้น ร้อยละ 5.1 ซึ่ง เป็นอัตราที่ต่ำกว่าช่วงไตรมาสที่4 ของปี 2556 ที่มีอัตราการเจริญเติบโต ร้อยละ 5.5
