ชาริล ชัปปุยส์ เคยถูกเรียกให้เข้าร่วมทีมชาติไทย โดยวินฟรีด เชฟเฟอร์ อดีตหัวหน้าผู้ฝึกสอนทีมชาติไทยเพื่อเข้าร่วมศึกฟุตบอล AFC Asian Cup 2015 แต่เนื่องจากเขาเคยเล่นให้กับทีมชาติสวิสเซอร์แลนด์ในการแข่งขันฟุตบอลโลกรุ่น U17 มาก่อน จึงต้องให้ฟีฟ่าพิจารณาการเปลี่ยนสัญชาติ ซึ่งไม่ทันกับการแข่งขันในครั้งนั้น จึงยังไมได้ร่วมแข่งขันในนามทีมชาติไทย
