หากเราจะนึกถึงใครคนหนึ่งที่นอกจากคุณพ่อ และคุณแม่ของเรา ใครคนหนึ่งที่เขา คอยดูแลเรา คอยอบรม และมอบวิชาความรู้ให้กับเรา ใครคนหนึ่งที่ยอมเหนื่อย เพื่อเราโดยที่เขา ไม่เคยหวังสิ่งตอบแทนใด ๆ ใครคนนั้นคงเป็นใครไปไม่ได้นอกจาก “ครู”
 
          หลายคนได้ให้คำนิยามมากมายที่เกี่ยวกับคำว่า ครู บางคนเปรียบครูเป็นเหมือนกับแสงเทียน ที่คอยส่องแสงสว่างไปยังเส้นทางที่ดี บางคนอาจจะเปรียบครูเป็นเหมือนกับเรือลำหนึ่ง ที่จะนำพาเราไปสู่จุดหมายปลายทางข้างหน้า ด้วยความเห็นที่แตกต่างกัน แต่ละคนย่อมที่จะมีความต้องการครูในรูปแบบที่แตกต่างกันไป ฉันเองก็มีความคิดและความคาดหวังที่อยากจะศึกษากับครูในอุดมคติของฉัน เช่นเดียวกัน ซึ่งครูในอุดมคติของฉันจะต้องเป็นครูที่มี จิตใจโอบอ้อมอารี สามารถให้ความรู้ กับนักเรียนนักศึกษา ได้อย่างเต็มที่ ดูแลเอาใจใส่นักศึกษาและคอยให้คำปรึกษาเวลานักศึกษามีปัญหาและพร้อมที่จะให้ความช่วยเหลือ สามารถสื่อสารกับนักเรียน นักศึกษาในขณะที่ทำการสอนได้อย่างเข้าใจ มีการ ปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบและวิธีการสอน อยู่เสมอ เปิดโอกาส ให้นักเรียน นักศึกษาได้มีโอกาส แสดงความคิดเห็น และรับฟังความคิดเห็นเหล่านั้นมาทำการ ปรับปรุงแก้ไขการสอนของตนเอง
 
           สิ่งที่สำคัญที่สุดสำหรับครูในอุดมคติของฉันคือ ต้องเป็นครูที่มีคุณธรรม จริยธรรม และ มีหัวใจของการเป็นครู อย่างเต็มเปี่ยม เพราะสิ่งนี้จะเป็นหัวใจสำคัญให้แสงเทียน หรือ เรือลำนี้ สามารถ นำพา และช่วย ขัดเกลา นักเรียนนักศึกษาไปสู่จุดหมายปลายทาง และพบกับความสำเร็จของชีวิตพร้อมที่จะเป็น บุคลากรที่ดีของชาติต่อไปได้
 
           แม้ว่าครูในอุดมคติของฉันจะมีคุณสมบัติมากมาย แต่ข้างในลึก ๆ แล้วฉันก็หวังเพียงว่าครูทุกคนคงจะ เป็นครูที่พร้อมที่จะมอบวิชาความรู้ให้กับตัวฉันและนักศึกษาคนอื่นอย่างเต็มใจ สร้างความประทับใจ ให้กับตัวนักศึกษาได้ มิใช่ทำให้ฉันและนักศึกษาคนอื่นมองครูเป็น แค่เพียง เรือจ้างลำหนึ่ง หรือ เป็นแค่เปลวเทียนข้างทาง ที่ทำหน้าที่พาเราข้าม ไปสู่จุดหมายแล้วก็ลาจากกันไป โดยที่ไม่มีอะไรเป็นสิ่งที่น่าจดจำและประทับใจติดตัวไปเลย
