การศึกษาในครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อลดความผิดพลาดในการตรวจนับสินค้าและระยะเวลาในการค้นหาสินค้า โดยผู้ศึกษาเลือกใช้ทฤษฎี PDCA ในการจัดทำใบตรวจสอบและทฤษฎี ECRS มาทำการออกแบบใบตรวจสอบ เพื่อใช้ในการตรวจนับสินค้า เนื่องจากกรณีศึกษาพบปัญหาการตรวจนับสินค้าไม่มีแบบฟอร์มในการจดบันทึก จากสาเหตุดังกล่าวผู้ศึกษาจึงได้ทำการออกแบบใบตรวจสอบที่เหมาะสำหรับการนำไปใช้งานและเพื่อลดปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้น
ผลจากการศึกษาพบว่า ก่อนใช้ใบตรวจสอบ มี่ค่าสถิติความผิดพลาดจากการตรวจนับสินค้าในเดือนมีนาคมอยู่ที่ 20 ครั้ง และระยะเวลาในการค้นหาสินค้า ในเดือนมีนาคมอยู่ที่ 159 นาที หลังการปรับปรุง พบว่าความผิดพลาด จากการตรวจนับสินค้าในเดือนเมษายนอยู่ที่ 9 ครั้ง ลดลงจากเดิม 11 ครั้ง และระยะเวลาในการค้นหาสินค้า ในเดือนเมษายนอยู่ที่ 42 นาทีลดลงจากเดิม 117 นาทีการมีใบตรวจสอบมาใช้ช่วยให้ประสิทธิภาพในการทำงานดีขึ้นอย่างให้ได้ชัดเจน
