เมืองโบราณคดีบ้านดงละคร กรมศิลปากรได้ประกาศขึ้นทะเบียน เป็นโบราณสถานแห่งชาติเมื่อวันที่8 มีนาคม พ.ศ.2478 ตั้งอยู่ที่ตำบลดงละคร ห่างจากตัวจังหวัดไปทางทิศใต้ประมาณ 9 กิโลเมตร แต่เดิมเรียกกันว่า “ เมืองลับแล ” เป็นสถานที่ตั้งเมืองโบราณสมัยขอมมีอำนาจ มีแนวกำแพงเป็นเนินดินและคูเมืองปรากฏอยู่ ชาวบ้านเรียกกันว่า“ สันคูเมือง ” มีคูน้ำล้อมรอบ ซึ่งเป็นแบบเมืองทวารวดีทางภาคกลางของไทย
