วันปีใหม่ของเกาหลี หรือ ที่รู้จักกันในชื่อว่า “ซอลลัล” (Seollal) เป็นวันแรกของปฏิทินทางจันทรคติ วันนี้เป็นวันหยุดประเพณีที่สำคัญที่สุดของเกาหลี เทศกาลเฉลิมฉลองปีใหม่เริ่มต้นตั้งแต่วันปีใหม่ คนเกาหลีจะเฉลิมฉลองวันปีใหม่ทางสุริยคติตามปฏิทินตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 มกราคม ของแต่ละปี เทศกาลปีใหม่หยุด 3 วัน
ธรรมเนียม

ธรรมเนียมที่ทำในวันซอลลัล คือ ลูกจะโค้งคำนับต่อบิดาและมารดาเพื่อให้พ่อแม่มีความสุขในวันปีใหม่ และกล่าวคำว่า “เซเฮ พก มา นี่ พัดดือเซโย” (Saehae bok manhi badeuseyo saehae bok manhi badeuseyo) เป็นการให้พรแก่บิดามารดาเพื่อให้ท่านมีความสุขในปีใหม่ จากนั้น บิดามารดาก็จะให้ของรางวัลแก่ลูกด้วยการให้เงินสำหรับเทศกาลปีใหม่ (เงินขวัญถุง) และ อวยพรให้ลูกเฉลียวฉลาด หรือ “ด็อกดัม” (Deokdam)

การละเล่นในเทศกาลปีใหม่
