วันต่อมา(2 ก.ค.) นายวีระได้เข้าขอบคุณนายสีหศักดิ์ ก่อนเดินทางกลับประเทศพร้อมกัน ทั้งนี้ ก่อนเดินทางกลับ นายวีระ ให้สัมภาษณ์ผู้สื่อข่าวว่า รู้สึกดีใจมากๆ ที่ได้รับการปล่อยตัว ผู้สื่อข่าวถามว่า หลังจากนี้จะทำอะไรต่อไป นายวีระ บอกว่า จะดูแลผลประโยชน์ของประเทศเหมือนอย่างที่เคยทำ
