ลักษณะของหญ้าแฝก หญ้าแฝกมีชื่อสามัญเป็นภาษาอังกฤษว่า Vetiver Grass มีด้วยกัน 2 สายพันธุ์ คือ หญ้าแฝกดอน (Vetiveria nemoralis A. Camus) และหญ้าแฝกหอม (Vetiveria zizanioides Nash)
