ในปี พ.ศ. 2518 หลวงพ่อจำเนียรมีความประสงค์จะหาสถานที่ปฏิบัติธรรมใหม่ ก็เกิดนิมิตในมโนภาพว่าเป็นสถานที่มีภูเขาล้อมรอบ และถ้ำชื่อ “ถ้ำเสือ” ตลอดถึงถ้ำต่างๆ หลายถ้ำ และอยู่ในเขตจังหวัดกระบี่ด้วย ทันทีที่เกิดนิมิตเห็นก็เกิดความรู้สึกนึกรักสถานที่นั้นขึ้นมาจับใจ เหมือนรู้สึกคุ้นเคยกับสถานที่นี้มาก่อน หลวงพ่อได้ให้พระอาจารย์หีด ไปเสาะแสวงหาสถานที่จะตั้งสำนัก จนในที่สุดพระอาจารย์หีดได้พบสถานที่หลายๆแห่งรวมถึงถ้ำเสือด้วย

หลวงพ่อได้มีโอกาสไปดูสถานที่ถ้ำตามที่พระอาจารย์หีดบอก ก็ตรงกับนิมิตที่หลวงพ่อเห็นจริงๆ หลวงพ่อจำเนียร ได้นำคณะพระภิกษุ สามเณร 53 แม่ชี 56ท่าน จากวัดสุคนธาวาส มาอยู่ ณ สถานที่แห่งนี้อันมีนามว่าถ้ำเสือ หรือในอดีตวัดมี ชื่อว่า “สำนักสงฆ์หน้าชิง” ตามชื่อหมู่บ้าน เมื่อวันที่ 25 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2518
และได้เปลี่ยนเป็น “วัดถ้ำเสือ” เมื่อวันที่ 2 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2533 มาบุกเบิกเปิดเป็นสถานที่ปฏิบัติธรรมวิปัสสนากรรมฐานจนถึงปัจจุบัน ที่ได้ชื่อว่า วัดถ้ำเสือนั้น จากการสอบถามชาวบ้านได้ความว่า ในอดีตเคยมีเสือโคร่งจำนวนมากอาศัยอยู่บริเวณของถ้ำที่ตั้งอยู่หน้าเขาแก้ว ภายในถ้ำยังปรากฏหินธรรมชาติเป็นรูปแบบอุ้งเท้าเสืออีกด้วย
