การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาหาปัจจัยที่ส่งผลต่อการเกิดแผ่นดินถล่ม ในพื้นที่จังหวัดพัทลุง และเพื่อศึกษาหาพื้นที่ที่มีความเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดแผ่นดินถล่มในพื้นที่จังหวัดพัทลุง เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการประกอบด้วยระบบสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์และการสำรวจเชิงพื้นที่
การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้โปรแกรม ArcMap ในการวิเคราะห์ค่าสถิติพื้นฐานและจัดทำแผ่นที่แสดงพื้นที่เสี่ยงภัยแผ่นดินถล่ม ในพื้นที่จังหวัดพัทลุง
