เราทุกคนต่างก็มีโลกส่วนตัวด้วยกันทั้งนั้น สิ่งนี้อาจแตกต่างกันไปในแต่ละบุคคล หรืออาจจะคล้ายคลึงกันบ้างในผู้ที่มีความสนใจในสิ่งเดียวกัน เราต่างก็ยอมรับว่าโลกส่วนตัวของตนเองมีเอกลักษณ์ไม่เหมือนผู้อื่น ซึ่งเป็นเรื่องจริง เพราะไม่มีใครที่จะมีความคิดเหมือนกันร้อยเปอร์เซ็นต์ โลกส่วนตัวจึงเป็นสิ่งที่มีในมนุษย์ทุกคน ตราบใดที่เรายังมีความคิดและจินตนาการ
ในความเห็นของข้าพเจ้า โลกส่วนตัวเป็นสิ่งที่ดีที่สุดอย่างหนึ่งที่มนุษย์พึงมี เป็นโลกที่เราสามารถใช้ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ได้เท่าที่ต้องการโดยไม่ต้องเดือดร้อนผู้อื่น ซึ่งสิ่งเหล่านี้อาจเกิดขึ้นในโลกแห่งความเป็นจริงไม่ได้ โลกส่วนตัวของข้าพเจ้านั้น เกิดขึ้นเมื่อข้าพเจ้าจมอยู่ในความคิดของตนเองในชั่วระยะเวลาหนึ่ง ข้าพเจ้ารักที่จะจินตนาการโลกส่วนตัวออกมาไม่ซ้ำแบบ ปัจจัยอย่างหนึ่งที่มีผลต่อวิธีการคิดเช่นนี้ ก็เนื่องมาจากวรรณกรรมทั้งหลายที่ข้าพเจ้าชอบอ่านมาตั้งแต่ยังเด็กทั้งสิ้น ในอดีต โลกส่วนตัวของข้าพเจ้ามักจะเป็นดินแดนในจินตนาการ เป็นสิ่งที่ข้าพเจ้าพยายามสร้างขึ้นให้ดีและมีเหตุมีผลมากที่สุด ก็เพราะว่าข้าพเจ้ารักที่จะเขียนมันออกมาในรูปแบบของนิยายและบทความ โลกส่วนตัวเหล่านั้นจึงต้องถูกสร้างขึ้นอย่างประณีตสักเล็กน้อย แต่ในปัจจุบัน เมื่อข้าพเจ้าเป็นผู้ใหญ่มากขึ้น ข้าพเจ้ากลับรู้สึกได้ว่าไม่มีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องพยายามสร้างโลกส่วนตัวให้มีเหตุมีผลอีกต่อไป อาจเป็นเพราะข้าพเจ้าผูกพันกับสิ่งเหล่านั้นมานานจนไม่ต้องใช้ความพยายามใดๆมากนักก็เป็นได้ โลกส่วนตัวของข้าพเจ้าจึงเริ่มเหมือนมีอยู่จริง และข้าพเจ้าก็สามารถเขียนมันออกมาเสมือนว่าทุกอย่างมีตัวตน โดยไม่ต้องออกแบบอะไรมากมาย เพราะเรื่องราวในโลกส่วนตัวนั้นจะดำเนินไปด้วยตัวของมันเอง และเข้าสู่เส้นทางที่มีเหตุผล และดูมีมิติมากขึ้นในที่สุด กระนั้น แม้ว่าการสร้างมันขึ้นมาจะง่ายกว่าแต่ก่อนมาก แต่โลกส่วนตัวหลายแบบก็อยู่กับข้าพเจ้าได้ไม่นาน ในเมื่อมีโลกใหม่ๆผุดขึ้นมาในสมองอยู่บ่อยๆ ทำให้ไม่สามารถสานต่อความคิดที่ฝังอยู่ในโลกใบเก่าให้สมบูรณ์มีชีวิตชีวาเช่นเดิมได้ จึงต้องปล่อยให้มันผ่านออกไปจากกระแสความคิดของข้าพเจ้าอย่างเงียบๆ เท่านั้นเอง หากจะกล่าวให้สั้น ข้าพเจ้าจะบอกว่าโลกส่วนตัวของข้าพเจ้านั้นคือนิยายและวรรณกรรม ซึ่งมีข้าพเจ้าเป็นผู้สร้างโดยผ่านการเขียนออกมา นั่นคือนิยามของมัน
เมื่อไม่นานมานี้ ข้าพเจ้าได้ค้นพบโลกส่วนตัวใบใหม่ เป็นโลกที่ซับซ้อนและใหญ่กว่าใบอื่นๆที่ข้าพเจ้าเคยมี และเหมือนจะมีผลต่อความคิดจิตใจของข้าพเจ้าอย่างรวดเร็ว โลกส่วนตัวชนิดนี้ชื่อว่า “การสำนึกรู้คุณ” ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าได้เรียนรู้จากพระพุทธศาสนา สิ่งนี้ทำให้ข้าพเจ้ามองโลกแห่งความเป็นจริงในแง่ดีมากขึ้น และข้าพเจ้ามั่นใจอย่างยิ่งว่ามันจะอยู่กับข้าพเจ้าไปตลอดชีวิต เมื่ออยู่ในโลกส่วนตัวใบนี้แล้วรู้สึกมีความสุข และระลึกได้ว่าข้าพเจ้าโชคดีเพียงใดที่ได้มีชีวิตอยู่มาจนถึงทุกวันนี้ ข้าพเจ้ามองเห็นความสวยงามของโลกแห่งความเป็นจริงที่ข้าพเจ้าอาศัยอยู่อย่างมาก และยังตระหนักได้ถึงคุณค่าของตนเอง โลกส่วนตัวใบนี้ให้อะไรกับข้าพเจ้ามากมาย และข้าพเจ้าคาดหวังที่จะให้ผู้อื่นได้รู้สึกถึงมันเช่นกัน นี่เป็นโลกส่วนตัวอีกด้านหนึ่งของข้าพเจ้า ดังที่กล่าวมาแล้วว่าข้าพเจ้านั้นมีโลกส่วนตัวหลายใบ
เราทุกคนมีโลกส่วนตัวที่ไม่เหมือนกัน ขึ้นอยู่กับว่าเราจะพึงพอใจและมีความสุขกับมันมากเพียงใด ข้าพเจ้าเห็นว่าการมีโลกส่วนตัวเป็นสิทธิพิเศษ และเป็นสิ่งที่มีคุณค่า เป็นที่ที่เรารู้จักอย่างดีที่สุดเพียงผู้เดียว และแสดงให้เห็นได้เป็นอย่างดีถึงความสำคัญของจินตนาการ อันเป็นต้นกำเนิดของโลกส่วนตัวดังกล่าว จินตนาการนั้นสำคัญอย่างมาก ถึงขนาดที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์ชื่อก้องโลก อัลเบิร์ต ไอน์สไตน์ ได้กล่าวเอาไว้ในอดีตว่า
