การดำเนินงานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อออกแบบและสร้างเครื่องย่อยสลายทางปาล์ม เพื่อย่อยสลายทางปาล์มที่เกิดจากการตัดของเกษตรกรและเพื่อเพิ่มผลประโยชน์ของทางปาล์ม การออกแบบและสร้างเครื่องย่อยสลายทางปาล์ม ต้องใช้ทฤษฏีหลาย ๆ ตัวเข้ามาช่วยในการออกแบบและสร้าง ทั้งการตัดเฉือน การส่งกำลังเพลา ความเร็วรอบ การทดรอบของ มู่เล่ การบดย่อย และการส่งกำลังของเครื่องต้นกำลัง เป็นต้น จากงานวิจัยออกแบบและสร้างเครื่องสลายทางปาล์มสามารถพบว่าการทำงานของเครื่องนี้มีประสิทธิภาพในการทำงาน คือ เครื่องย่อยทางปาล์มได้พัฒนาเป็นเครื่องย่อยที่มีใบมีดจำนวน 4 ใบมีด อยู่บนโครงแกนเพลาเส้นผ่านศูนย์กลาง 1 นิ้ว ความกว้างของใบมีด 5 เซนติเมตร ความยาวของพื้นที่ในการตัดหรือความยาวของใบมีด 19 เซนติเมตร ใช้ต้นกำลังเป็นเครื่องยนต์เบนซิน 4 จังหวะ 5.5 แรงม้า ในการใช้เครื่องนี้ในการย่อยสลายทางปาล์มจะเป็นการช่วยทุนแรงและประหยัดเวลาได้เยอะกว่าการใช้คนในการสับทางปาล์มอีกด้วยคณะผู้จัดทำหวังว่าเครื่องหั่นย่อยสลายทางปาล์มคงจะเป็นต้นแบบในการพัฒนาเครื่องหั่นย่อยสลายทางปาล์มชิ้นต่อ ๆ ไปขึ้นมาและมีคุณภาพในการใช้งานที่ดีกว่าและมีประสิทธิภาพที่ดีกว่า
