บทคัดย่อ
บทความวิชาการนี้ จะนำเสนอเรื่อง เกี่ยวกับทรัพยากรดิน ถือเป็นพื้นฐานในการการศึกษาทางด้านปฐพีวิทยา ซึ่งในประเทศไทย นับได้ว่าเป็นประเทศแห่งเกษตรกรรมที่มีมานาน ดินเป็นพื้นฐานองค์ประกอบสำคัญของการทำการเกษตร เป็นแหล่งก่อกำเนิดอารยะธรรมมนุษย์เป็นที่พักพิงสำคัญของแหล่งพืชพรรณสัตว์ สิ่งมีชีวิตต่างๆ และการทำการเกษตรของมนุษย์ถือเป็นการดำเนินชีวิตตามพื้นฐานความจำเป็น ของการดำรงอยู่เพื่อรักษาอารยะธรรมพื้นถิ่นนั้นๆ แต่การทำการเกษตรในปัจจุบัน ได้ละเลยและไม่ให้ความสำคัญในการดูแลรักษาสภาพของผืนดินที่ใช้ทำการเกษตร แต่เป็นการทำลายโดยใช้ปัจจัยต่างๆ คือปุ๋ยเคมี และสารเคมี ทางการเกษตรใส่ลงไปในดิน ในน้ำ เพื่อกระตุ้นการเจริญเติบโตของพืช ในปัจจุบันมีความเข้าใจในเรื่องดินไม่มากนักในการใช้งาน ทำให้ดินมีความเสื่อมโทรมไม่สามารถใช้ประโยชน์จากดินได้อย่างเต็มที่จึงทำให้ดินไม่เหมาะสมต่อการนำมาเพาะปลูก ถ้านำดินนั้นมาใช้ประโยชน์จะไม่สามารถให้ผลผลิตหรือให้ผลผลิตต่ำ นอกจากนี้ยังรวมไปถึงที่ดินที่มีข้อจำกัดต่อการใช้ประโยชน์ ซึ่งเมื่อนำไปใช้แล้วจะเกิดผลกระทบต่อระบบนิเวศอย่างรุนแรง ดินปัญหาหลักของประเทศไทยได้แก่ ปัญหาดินเปรี้ยวจัด ดินตื้น และดินเค็มนอกจากนี้ในพื้นที่หนึ่งๆ อาจจะมีปัญหาดินมากกว่าหนึ่งประเภท ดังนั้นการแก้ไขดินจำเป็นต้องแก้ไขร่วมกันทุกปัญหา จึงจะทำให้การใช้ที่ดินเกิดประสิทธิภาพและประสิทธิผล จึงทำให้ดินมีความสำคัญต่อคนไทยเป็นอย่างมาก ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้มีการใช้ดินอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น โดยมีการบอกถึงปัญหาของดิน มีการแนะนำการปลูกพืชคลุมดิน คือ หญ้าแฝก เป็นวิธีการเพิ่มความหนาแน่นของพืช การคลุมดิน ป้องกันเม็ดฝน ตลอดจนการปรับปรุง บำรุงดิน ซึ่งเกษตรกรสามารถปฏิบัติได้เอง เพื่อเป็นวิธีการที่จะทำให้ดินอุดมสมบูรณ์ต่อการเพาะปลูกในทางเกษตร ความรู้จากบทความนี้เพื่อส่งเสริมให้เกษตรกรนำดินไปใช้ในทางที่ถูกต้องและมีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานที่สำคัญของการเกษตร และเกษตรกร
