ระบบสารสนเทศรายวิชาโครงงาน มีวัตถุประสงค์หลัก เพื่อช่วยลดความยุ่งยากในการทำงานเอกสารของเจ้าหน้าที่ประสานงานรายวิชาโครงงาน ในการจัดการข้อมูลโครงงานใน 3 หัวข้อหลัก ได้แก่ (1)การเลือกหัวข้อโครงงาน และอาจารย์ที่ปรึกษา (2)การบันทึกการเข้าพบอาจารย์ที่ปรึกษา และ (3)การเปลี่ยนหัวข้อโครงงาน ซึ่งจากรูปแบบเดิม เจ้าหน้าที่ต้องรวบรวมข้อมูลที่นักศึกษากรอกในแบบฟอร์มกระดาษ มาบันทึกเข้าระบบ เพื่อสรุปข้อมูลในแต่ละด้าน ซึ่งการกรอกข้อมูลจำนวนมาก อาจทำให้เกิดความผิดพลาดขึ้นได้
การพัฒนาระบบสารสนเทศรายวิชาโครงงานนี้ ได้จัดทำในรูปแบบ เว็บแอปพลิเคชัน โดยนำเทคโนโลยี Yii2 Framework มาช่วยในการพัฒนา เพื่อเพิ่มความสะดวกสำหรับเจ้าหน้าที่ในการจัดการข้อมูลโครงงาน และระบบที่พัฒนายังสามารถช่วยนักศึกษาในการค้นหาหัวข้อโครงงานที่มีอยู่ในปัจจุบัน และโครงงานที่เคยพัฒนามาแล้ว เพื่อเป็นแนวทางให้นักศึกษารุ่นถัดไปเลือกทำโครงงานได้อย่างเหมาะสม
