กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ นักเรียนชายและหญิงที่กำลังศึกษาในระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ซึ่งศึกษาอยู่ในโรงเรียนขนาดใหญ่ในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร และโรงเรียนขนาดใหญ่ในต่างจังหวัด สังกัดกระทรวงศึกษาธิการ ในการเลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีขั้นตอนและหลักเกณฑ์ คือ
