เมื่อหลวงปู่แว่นเดินทางมาถึง จังหวัดลำปาง ท่านก็ได้กลับไปดูแลจำพรรษาวัดป่าสำราญนิวาสอีกระยะหนึ่ง ครั้นพออกพรรษาพวกศรัทธาบ้านนาคต อำเภอแม่ทะ
หลวงปู่แว่นได้ปรารภกับชาวบ้านถึงเรื่องถ้ำต่างๆบนดอยแถวนี้ ซึ่งก็ได้ทราบว่านอกจากจะมีถ้ำเก่าแก่ซึ่งมีถ้ำใหญ่และยังมีถ้ำใหญ่น้อยอื่นๆอีกหลายถ้ำ จึงได้ขอให้ชาวบ้านที่รู้จักทางพาไปดูในคืนต่อ ๆ มาก็ได้ก็เปลี่ยนมาพักที่ถ้ำเก่าแก่เป็นส่วนใหญ่ จนได้ติดป้ายชื่อที่หน้าถ้ำว่า “ถ้ำสบาย” ต่อมาหลวงปู่แว่นท่านจึงได้เปลี่ยนชื่อถ้ำเสียใหม่ว่า “ถ้ำพระสบาย” ตั้งแต่นั้นมา
